The Universal MedAssist™ lift-assisted stretcher trolley is being successfully trialled in many NHS Trusts. The feedback from those that have trialled the Universal MedAssist™ has been overwhelmingly positive. There are numerous unique features that the Paramedics have been pleased to see in the innovative design of the Universal MedAssist™ stretcher trolley.

The lightweight is the most popular feature as it helps to reduce injuries related to manual handling and makes transporting patients easier. The Universal MedAssist™ is approximately 20% lighter than other lift-assisted stretcher trolleys.

The special ‘directional’ lock has been well received as Paramedics have benefited from the smooth manoeuvrability of the stretcher trolley. The directional lock eliminates any problematic ‘supermarket trolley’ wheeling effect.

The design of the stretcher trolley has taken into consideration the Paramedic’s requirements, so it is practical and easy to use. Those that have trialled the stretcher trolley have quickly learnt the simple operational procedures and benefited from the unique features such as the wheelchair position. The Universal MedAssist™ had a wheelchair position designed into its functionality as there were customer demands for a lift-assisted stretcher trolley that can access confined spaces such as narrow corridors and lifts.

The Universal MedAssist™ stretcher trolley connects into the Ambulance in its own Universal Station, but it also has the huge benefit of being interchangeable with other leading trolleys, CCT, ITU and locking devices.
